     Robin White

Witness member Robin White is a native of Portland, Tenn. He and his wife Tricia have three children: Dawn, Amber and Zachary; and six grandchildren: Hollie, Macie, Eli, Christopher, Taylor & Hannah. He is an active member of Cornerstone Church, Nashville, where he sings in the choir.

Robin's musical and singing background comes from his parents and grandparents who grew up playing bluegrass music as a family group. They were associated with the McCormack Brothers and won many county fair instrumental contests in guitar, banjo, mandolin, fiddle and harmonica. Robin's first concert exposure was at the approximate age of 3 when his grandparents took him to see Flatt & Scruggs. This hooked him on making music forever! When he was six, Robin began taking piano lessons and learning the guitar around the same period of time by watching his father play with the family group. Through junior high and high school days, Robin formed several bands playing all types of music. His first exposure to playing and singing in public outside of his own church was in the mid 1960s with a young men’s gospel quartet. Being raised in church continually exposed Robin to Southern Gospel music, and the bluegrass and quartet styles of harmony singing that he still enjoys today. Some of his greatest memories are of attending many all-night Gospel sings and meeting many of the great Hall of Fame gospel singers. Robin's main influence on the guitar was the James Taylor finger picking style, which he has combined with the traditional bluegrass styles, easily detectable when listening to him play. Robin's official entry into the "Music Industry" was in early 1972 when he began singing, playing, producing, engineering and writing with many of the record company and recording studios on and around music row. He is especially appreciative of the encouragement and opportunities made possible by Jim Foglesong during the early years at Dot Records and the then Tree International Publishing Company.

Robin has a vocal range that enables him to sing lead and all the harmony parts, including bass. He also plays several instruments, including piano, guitar, bass guitar, mandolin, banjo, drums and harmonica.

Robin is currently the owner of an architectural and structural design firm, “White Design and Drafting”; a light gage steel residential and commercial design and framing package provider, “Tennessee Steel Systems”; and, “Disciple Productions”, a musical event production & sound company who is a designer/installer/supplier/trainer of permanent sound systems and multi-media systems, and an event organizer/producer/promoter & provider of stage, sound, and lighting.

Robin has done extensive recording studio work, including instrument accompaniment, vocals, arrangement, engineering and producing. He has worked with RCA, MCA, Tree International Publishing Co., Dot Records and many others and has traveled throughout the United States and Canada working with several Country and Gospel artists.
Now Robin confines the primary use of his time and talent in the ministry of the group “Witness” and “Witness Ministries” of which he serves as President & CEO.
“Each of us wants to be a real living witness in front of those around us,” he said. “We hope and pray that just a little of God’s amazing love will shine through us and point others toward Him!” and we all should always remember that the old saying holds very true, “actions speak louder than words!, so, we all need to let others see Jesus in us………in our daily living for others to see!
